Empirical social science research is growing in its relevance, especially in researching systematically disadvantaged (so-called vulnerable) populations, such as migrants, refugees or aboriginal populations.

Research Across Borders believes scientific research is a powerful tool to gain an informed understanding of underlying psychological, socio-economic and legal mechanisms of issues that matter, based on empirical evidence.

All findings are directed at making positive change through influencing organizations and governments.

More specifically, the goal is contemporary social science research on society-impacting events with a proactive IT use to:

  • Empirically determine effect on society, and to

  • Inform recommendations/product development to

    • Mitigate negative impact (e.g. prediction of labour exploitation) and

    • Perpetuate positive impact (e.g. empowerment of vulnerable populations).
